What are the three big financial goals you are working on right now?
Are they written down where you can see them?
Are your actual and forecast results linked up to those goals?
When I am operating in a CFO or consultant role, one of the first exercises I do with the CEO is to identify the three key financial goals we need to focus on for the coming three to six months.
Then I hook the actual and forecast results to those goals so we can monitor the pace and progress of our efforts to achieve the goals.
It is amazing how profitability and cash flow are impacted when you have a simple, concise set of financial goals in front of you every month.
Take a minute to write down your three financial goals. (Just thinking about them will make a difference.)
